One8 Student ministry exists to impact the students of Austin, TX with the grace, truth, and love of Jesus Christ by helping them to discover, develop, and deepen relationships with God and others.
Our Senior High Group meets Sunday nights for NightLife from 5:30 - 7:00, in the High Dive (3rd floor).
"The STAND" Junior High (6th-8th) Grade meets 10:30 on Sunday mornings.
The One8 in our names comes from Acts 1:8 which says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
The desire for our student ministry is that we experience and know the glory of the Lord. We want to see students discover who Jesus is (John 20:31), develop a relationship with Him (Phil 3:9-10) and others (Matt 28:19-20; Gal. 6:2) and deepen those relationships (Phil 3:14).
The Philosophy of discover, develop, and deepening comes from the fact that Jesus based His ministry on earth around relationships: a relationship with the Father, with the disciples, and with the people around them. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship and when our students understand and live like that, they live like Jesus.
We are committed as a Student Ministry to do our part inseeing the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord through the relationships we build in the areas of:
FAMILY-FRIENDS-CHURCH-SCHOOL-COMMUNITY-PEERS-CITY-WORLD
Our purpose statement reads: One8 Student Ministries exists to develop witnesses for Christ who are firmly rooted in their faith, committed to living out what they believe and devoted to reaching Southwest Austin now, and their universities later, with the life changing reality of Jesus Christ.
Our motto is: "Love God, Love people" in that order. When we do that, we bring God the most glory.
As God uses this ministry to discover, develop, and deepen relationships we commit to do our part in being witnesses for Christ in all we do and say.
