Meet the Valcins
Gersan Valcin is a Haitian graduate from a Texas seminary whom God called back to his own country of Haiti in 1997. On staff now with East West ministries, but living in Port au Prince, Haiti, the Lord has deeply touched this country through Gersan and Betty Valcin in wonderfully diverse ways.
- Gersan pastors the 1,500 member Church of the Evangelical Community of Haiti in Port au Prince
- Betty has served as the International Director for AWANA ministries for Haiti since 2000, with currently over 22 AWANA clubs established throughout the country
- Valcin’s established Jacob’s Well Camp in Limbe, Haiti which has brought the name of Jesus to hundreds of children who have been steeped in the Voodoo culture of Haiti
- Gersan has been privileged to minister through Tele-Radio Lumier, the main Evangelical radio/television station in all of Haiti. His regular radio ministry teachings have brought the knowledge of Jesus’ resurrection power and the hope of the gospel to thousands who are desperately searching in Haiti
- God has privileged Gersan to minister to people in high places of influence in the Haitian government and in the life of famous singer in Haiti. The testimonies that have come from these changed lives have had an enormous spiritual impact in Haiti.
- The Valcin's have two daughters Deborah and Elizabeth who are currently living with friends in Austin and attend Westwood High School
God protected Gersan and Betty during the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Port au Prince, Haiti on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.
